Don't forget the sun cream - and other beauty tips
If you are heading off on holiday this summer, you may well be experiencing one of those travel problems that we all face from time to time. How on earth will everything go in that bag? Clothes, shoes, beauty spa products, make up, a good book, sun lotion...and so it goes on. We all end up struggling to the airport with swollen luggage, seams fit to burst.
As far as clothing is concerned, I recommend a packing strategy in which clothes are rolled, rather than folded. Amazingly creases are reduced drastically too - the perfect solution. Try not to go overboard with what you are putting in the bag in the first place; you don't need to take your whole wardrobe. You can always wash clothing if necessary.
Beauty products are easy to get carried away with as they are individually so small but a friend made a recommendation that has really helped me cut down. Ditch all the fancy stuff and just take what you really need (cleanser and face cream) then go on a deluxe spa day so your skin can enjoy the benefits of a pampering facial. It's a great way of getting all sorts of new spa experiences and it can make a nice change from your regular salon or spa.
If you are coming to London on holiday, I highly recommend a visit to The Sanctuary. It is one of the UK's best known beauty spas and it has a very relaxing, pleasant ambiance. You might even be able to persuade your partner to book you some Sanctuary vouchers as a gift.
One thing you should never forget is to take a cream or other hydration boost for your skin for the plane journey. An air conditioned environment will drain your skin of moisture and leave it dull and papery. Combined with the fact you may well have had a poor night's sleep, not to mention the stress of travelling, your skin can end up suffering when you want it to be at its best.
